Who is L-Training?

L-Training is the trading name of Andy Carter, a Driving Standards Agency - Approved Driving Instructor.

Andy works in and around Folkestone and Dover, with the aim of helping people to learn to drive safely and to gain the skills required to stay safe throughout a lifetime of driving.  Some instructors will just teach you what you need to know to pass a test...  the good ones will ensure you learn how to drive!

Andy is well qualified, having entered the Register of Approved Fleet Driver Trainers last year.  This newly formed register, administered by the Driving Standards Agency, lists only about 900 Driving Instructors, who have entered the register following extensive training in Advanced Driving, Advanced Coaching, Fault Analysis and Correction, and Classroom Teaching Techniques.  As a learner driver, you will benefit from knowing that your instructor has undertaken voluntary additional training, and is striving to become one of the top Driving Instructors nationally.

Much of his work these days is with qualified drivers, where a company will pay for their drivers to receive training in accident avoidance or advanced driving skills.  That said, Andy is well in touch with all the latest news and will be able to answer any question you might wish to ask!

Andy is also the Chairman of the Association of South-Eastern Driving Instructors, and was elected to that post in September 2004 unanimously by the Association Members.

You will also find him very active on the Learner Driver Forum at www.2pass.co.uk - where only a small number of Qualified Driving Instructors give up their free time to help learners to gain the most from their time with L-Plates.

Andy is married to Karen, and has two daughters - Bethany (6) and Hannah (1).  He does not work more than 40 hours in any week, ensuring that he is always able to give 100% attention to every customer.
